I want to go through and reorganise my mp3 collection and I am looking for a Tag Editor that will allow me go through and look up the relevant tags online, like when you rip a CD to mp3 in the first place.

The software must be easy to use I have some 30,000 mp3's I need to go through and organise and need to update the tags on some 50% of them.

Having left KDE until Icon colors return, I've suffered without a decent file tagger, KID3. Well, I suffer no more, as Mate on Antix supports KID3 via KDE runtime elements. I've found MP3s with wildly bizarre tags, and so I end up stripping a lots of data from the MP3 tags which come with the MP3s.

KID3 is powerful in that you can search a whole directory structure for tags which have underscore in it, and that creates a group which you can operate on to remove or replace those underscores.

KID3 is great software, once you learn how to use it's deeper powers.

I hear Ex Falso is also quite powerful, too, although I chose to not learn much about it.
