Univention Corporate Server Univention has announced the release of Univention Corporate Server 3.1, a Debian-based server operating system for enterprises: "The IT infrastructure software specialist Univention has published version 3.1 of its server operating system Univention Corporate Server (UCS). With UCS 3.1, the Bremen-based manufacturer of open-source software is offering organisations an easy-to-use operating and management solution for internal or cloud-hosted IT infrastructures. Thanks to the newly integrated component Univention App Center, it is now even easier to expand these infrastructures with additional applications. In addition, UCS 3.1 also includes an updated version of Samba 4 for the provision of Active Directory-compatible domain services and a tool for the simple migration of Microsoft Active Directory to UCS." [Univention Corporate Server] Univention has announced the release of Univention Corporate Server 3.2, a Debian-based, enterprise-class operating system for servers: "We are very happy to announce the availability of Univention Corporate Server (UCS) 3.2. Highlights are: the operation of the Univention Management Console has been optimised and simplified in a number of points, e.g., there are now simplified wizards for creating users and internal system users are no longer shown in the basic setting; UCS now provides a SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) identity provider - the external service is then registered via a cryptographic certificate and trusted by the identity provider; the Univention App Center has been expanded; Samba 4 has been updated to Version 4.1; Bridges, bondings and VLANs can now also be configured in the Univention Management Console...." [Univention Corporate Server] Univention has released an updated build of Univention Corporate Server 3.2, a Debian-based server distribution with a web-based management system for central administration of servers: "We are pleased to announce the availability of UCS 3.2-1, the first point release of Univention Corporate Server (UCS). It includes all errata updates issued for UCS 3.2-0 and comprises the following highlights: the Linux kernel package was updated to 3.10.26, besides many bug fixes this also improves hardware support; the Univention App Center was extended - beside several bug fixes, new interfaces are provided which improve the integration of third-party applications; Univention AD Takeover - the UCS solution for the automatic migration of an Active Directory domain to UCS - was improved further, it now also support the migration of AD domains operated in languages other than English or German...." It includes all errata updates issued for UCS 3.2-0 and comprises the following highlights: domain joining of Windows clients with incorrect system times has been simplified - it is now no longer necessary to synchronise the system time in advance; Univention AD Takeover - the UCS solution for the automatic migration of an Active Directory domain to UCS - can now also be performed via a Univention Management Console module; the Univention App Center has been expanded further, for example it is now also possible to provide applications which are not available for all processor architectures...."
